Fisher House™ supports our soldiers when they are wounded in action. Families of the wounded can stay at a Fisher House™ near the soldier they love when he or she needs them most and needs to be near them. Fisher House™ is "a home away from home" for families of patients receiving care at major military and VA medical centers. The homes are almost always within walking distance of the place where their family member is being treated. There are 33 Fisher Houses™, and six more are being built; but they need more. There are not enough houses to help everyone who needs them, and more need to be built.

Last year ... 8,000 families stayed in the Fisher Houses™ for anywhere from two weeks to two months depending on their soldiers condition and treatment status. Fisher House™ was able to save families over $7 million last year in food lodging and transportation. Fisher House™ has save families over $60 million dollars since they started helped more than 70,000 families with more than 2 million nights lodging.
