Saturday Night after my race at Perris Raceway we headed to Pomona for the final AMA round of the Gran National Flat Track Series. Pomona is a 1/2 mile track that has really long straightaways with tight corners, making it similar to riding around a paper clip. This was the first time I had ridden a track like this. After practice I was feeling pretty good and made a couple of changes to the bike to better prepare for the heat races. I rode a pretty good heat race missing the cut by 3 riders. I geared up to run the LCQ and had a pretty bad start. I was able to pass a handful of riders within the first couple of laps putting myself in a transfer position. The last lap I ran wide in turn two and another rider slid by and I just didn’t have room to get back by him before we came back by the checkers. It was another great learning experience and I cant wait for next year as I will be better prepared and have a lot more experience under my belt. Next year you will see me be a contender at a lot of tracks. I know the AMA season ended but I am already excited and waiting for the first AMA race in Daytona during Bike Week in March! Thanks again to everyone that has supported my Flat Track Program this year!
